Listen to HOTT MT's Single "Kat Kastle"

They stalked Wayne Coyne into loving them. Tune in, trip out.

HOTT MT stands for Hour Of The Time Majesty Twelve. For some reason, this makes me think of trippy cult flick The Holy Mountain, which is essentially a series of faintly erotic, super surreal, visually stunning non-sequiturs. If you haven't seen it, do so. (And judging from this above press shot, I'd hazard a guess that this quintet have.) Anyway, you can find HOTT MT in LA's Chinatown, where they live and work, and you may remember them from this plinkety pop tune with Wayne Coyne, which came about after HOTT MT essentially stalked The Flaming Lips singer and charmed/wowed him into a series of collaborations.

While the band claim a Thai pop/shoegaze influence, with its sinuous, funked up bassline and singer Ashi's spiked yet ethereal vocals, "Kat Kastle" totally recalls Bow Wow Wow. This is a very good thing. Have a listen.

"Kat Kastle/Morning" is out February 25 via White Iris Records.
