Is the moment the ABC went OTT? Panel show for 'informed discussion' on Australia's attitude to porn veers off topic to a 46-year-old virgin dancing in a pink mankini

  • Ordinary Australians have spilled their sex secrets in a live TV debate
  • A 46-year-old virgin was seen dancing in front of webcam in pink mankini
  • One man admitted he used to masturbate four times a day until he bled
  • Young couple claimed watching porn has brought them closer together

From a 46-year-old virgin who dressed in a pink mankini to dance for adult webcams to a man who used to masturbate until he bled, ordinary Australians have spilled their sex secrets on live TV.

Despite being billed as a chance to offer informed discussion on changing attitudes to sex, ABC2 show Australians on Porn instead focused on unfortunate bedroom incidents and bizarre addictions.

John, 46, opened up about how he spent as much as $300 per week on live sex cams to 'express his sexuality' as he had never been intimate with a woman before.

Sporting a fluorescent pink mankini and silver lamé hotpants, he was seen dancing in front of his web cam as he chatted to porn star Angela White.

'I like webcams because they are live and not pre-recorded,' he told the show.

'It's a way for me to express my sexuality because I'm single and I've never really had sex. I probably spend between $200 and $300 per week.'

Angela said he was one of her 'biggest fans' and insisted that she considered him a friend, despite the fact that money is involved.

'I always try and work out why men have come to the platform, because some people are just lonely and want a chat, while others just want to get off.'

Hosted by Tom Tilley, the live TV event explored how porn has affected attitudes to sex and lifted the lid on what Australians are choosing to watch.

One couple even spoke about how watching porn together had improved their relationship and sex life.

Matt also appeared on the program and spoke about how he would masturbate to porn so much that he would bleed because of the friction.

'I would watch porn three or four times a week. In my bathroom and even in my place of work. There were stains on my carpet and my downloads were always used up,' he told the show.

'I would masturbate so much that I would bleed because of the friction. I would then think – 'this is too much', but the next day I would just do it again.'

He opened up about the moment he told his mother 'I think I'm addicted to porn'.

Matt said his addiction peaked when he felt 'isolated' after a big break-up. But he also traced the start of his obsession to when his father came out when he was 11.

'At that pre-pubescent stage I just thought, I need to be straight,' he said.

'It all started with Playboy and it escalated with the dial up internet and then broadband.'

Anti-porn campaigners Laura Pinter, who started the petition to get Zoo Weekly pulled, and Melinda Tankard Reist also appeared on the TV debate.

They were often seen clashing with porn star Lucie Bee who defended the industry but said there should be improved sex education in schools.
